GLOBAL CLASSROOM
GLOBAL CLASSROOM IS A PROGRAMME IN WHICH STUDENTS PLAY TO BE UNO DELEGATES. THEY MUST DEFEND THE INTEREST OF A COUNTRY ON A PARTICULAR ISSUE. THIS YEAR THEY DEALT WITH GENERIC DRUGS. A GROUP OF 10 STUDENTS FROM 3RD ESO OF OUR SCHOOL PARTICIPATED ACTIVELY IN THE DEBATES AND WRITING OF RESOLUTIONS. IT WAS A LONG AND TIRING DAY BUT WE LEARNT LOTS OF THINGS: HOW THE UNO WORKS, HOW TO PARTICIPATE IN A BIG GROUP WITHOUT RAISING YOUR VOICE, HOW TO UNDERSTAND THAT NOT EVERYONE HAS THE SAME PROBLEMS, CIRCUMSTANCES OR NEEDS, AND PARTICULARLY IN MY OPINION THE BEST OF ALL: THAT COMMUNICATION AND DIALOGUE CAN MOVE THE WORLD. THANKS TO ALL OF YOU WHO PARTICIPATED THIS YEAR: CARLOS, AIMAM,JULIÁN, JAVIER, GUILLERMO, PABLO,LAURA,MEG,PAULA AND YOLANDA. THANKS TO COREY OUR FULBRIGHT ASSISTANT WHO PREPARED THEM SO WELL.

F. EX: Ana Hernandez works as a nurse in El Escorial hospital. She has worked there for over 20 years. In her work she helps patients who come to the emergency departament, so she sees many different cases of sick people and accidents. Sher looks after them, gives them medication and the doctors' treatments.
She works from 8 to 3 every day including the weekends and then she is free for other two days in the week. Every week she has a different schedule wit different free days. She says she likes her job in general but she is finding it difficult the changes in the conditions of the last few years because of the recession. As for many other employees, she works more time for less money.After more than 25 years work, she earns just a little less than 2000 euros a month, just enough to pay for a family expenses, she considers.
