Leila Alaoui was a French- Moroccan photographer who lived between the two countries, France and Morocco.
She studied in Usa and Europe and soon devoted to her passion, photography. She considered that art should help show social injustice and inequality. In her series the Moroccans, she provides a portratit of different people in her home country. She won many prizes and gave exhibitions all over the world. She was killed recently while she was working in Burkina Faso.
